      Messy chaos of illusory mechanism. Relentlessness on a charred battery. Some summary burns, a 12 volt smoke and then… A debacle «spectacle» already consumed. As if there is no spare wheel, no steering, but fortunately everything starts to catch fire. Living water burner, smell of sulfur, crimson beat, alloy of pyrotechnic sounds and emergency connections. Just a little electronic liquid to just keep it going in the promise that everything will end with a burst of fireworks…

• L’EAU ROUGE is a crammed & inflamed trip outdoors in the company of fresh french duo of circus arghtists : Antoine Redon → performer & juggler of flames, manipulator of objects & fireworks + Jean-Baptiste Véry → electr(on)ic «live» musician.

King Biscuit

      Infamous carnivorous fantastic 4 < > Rouen bites you ! KING BISCUIT was formed in early 1992 as a trio with the intention of playing acoustically in the streets. June of the same year, first concerts. It failed : immediate electric skidding. There were then a permanent one∼upmanship, each trying to cover the other 2 —at the sound level, to be heard—, with the result : an increasingly pronounced hardening of the music of the countryside orchestra. Early 1994, a trumpet came in the dish of the french biscuit kings. The decibel∼snag madness goes beyond the limits. The «P∼core» found a new lease of life, phew  ! Hundreds of shows, 3 demo cassettes, many compilations participations, a 7” split {w/ Cornice, you can listen on the player above} & a 10” split {w/ Copywrong} will follow one another until the dissolution of the four liquid lovers, slurp  !

• KING BISCUIT was : Mimile ← trumpet, voice, danse, any kind of works + Pakal ← bass, guitar, voice, and everything that comes up —later, he played guitar with Stanley Kubi… + Pédro ← drums, harmonica, voice, possibly something else + Rawl ← guitar, banjo, bass, drums, voice, open to any propositions —besides, he also played banjo with Gopher Wyborowa— … What adventures…

       Christian Chapiron { aka KIKI PICASSO } is a french designer, graphic cartooner, painter, illustrator, circus clamor & videographer. At the end of the 70’s, he was an active member of the Bazooka graphic commando, internationally recognized for its subversive ideological and drastic arghtistic  positions which radically renewed the graphic «arts» and press cartoon. When they met at the Beaux∼Arts  in Paris in 1974, its very young founders preferred comix to school and aspired to mark an arghtistic  break in a punk  aesthetic mixing violence, pornography and biting irony. «We are getting ready to start a career as artists but we especially want to not be in galleries, and we think that the ideal medium for graphic and artistic creation is the media. Galleries, museums and all institutions are sinister, unproductive, not funny places» said young Christian Chapiron. Their interventions in the french daily newspaper Liberation, in particular, will cause many scandals…

• In solo, KIKI PICASSO has produced numerous TV shows credits, record covers and book covers, while responding to orders from arghtivist, militant, political and/or left∼libertarian circles of all kinds. Outside of arts institutions his arghtivity  as a painter has never ceased, even though his first retrospective «Les chefs d’œuvre de Kiki Picasso», only took place in 2019…

      The musical exploration of Insólito UniVerso draws on various sources such as «psychedelic» folk, «progressive» jazz and very particularly in traditional venezuelan songs & dances to create a soundscape that is at once bewitching, dancing, dreamlike, ecstatic… A voice and its song, curious, capricious, eager for nooks and crannies, unusual detours, goes into a musical body of latino  american roots. Let’s go in & out of the lyrical, the traditional, the psyche, with these songs that are experienced at the limits of poetry…

• Broadcast since the 60’s in popular venezuelan radios, «Nuestro Insólito Universo» was a radio show that mixes legends & paranormal stories with various facts under a disturbing background sound…

• Insólito UniVerso is : Edgar Bonilla → keyboards + Maria Fernanda → voice & cuatro + Raúl Monsalve → bass + various percussive inventive guests…

Guess What

      Luke Warmcop { drums, percussions, trumpet… } & Graham Mushnik { various & multiples keyboards… } formed GUESS WHAT in 1968 (2005). They started by rehearsing endlessly, locked in their garage mainly, producing obscure & metaphysical music in the form of (very) original soundtracks… Since 1971 (2008), the duo have been relentlessly testing the stage, developing a set of instrumental pieces dedicated to russian cosmonot Yuri Gagarin  who gave the concept album «Yuri Gagarin—12 Modern Odes to History’s Greatest Spaceman» → edited on their own label, CATAPULTE. In 1973 (2010), the 2 acolytes discovered the sinuous and pernicious lairs of the «Giallo» cinema and follow up the recording of some imaginative and inventive italian works → The LP recording «Mondo Giallo» was out on IMAGENES Records ← Since then, out of print, 5 of its hits have been reissued via our concept compilation boxset «Dont Worry Be Angrry» {That you can listen on the player above} in 1980 (2017). In the meantime, a new focus monopolized them to finally achieve in 1978 (2015) a third and surprising LP «Al-Khawarizmi», named in hommage of the persian mathematician & astronomer, around the music of the middle∼east…

• GUESS WHAT also collaborated with Compagnie Titanos for the (re)creation of the musical ambiance of mystico∼steelmaking circus show «Ouroboros» in the streets in 1981 (2018)…

• And welcome to the fourth —sonic— dimension «Music for the Education of Children in Space» all∼just edited, delivered, flown in 1984 (2021)  → Then just now came out a trouble∼double vinyl { as a selection∼compilation featuring the 3 firsts albums so called «Chrestomathy» under the label without label ! a N G R r ! } ← (Im)patient & (ir)relevant new discovery… in 1987 (2024) !

Each ALBUM represents an element of civilization → from language to «Prasasti» (2012) → from architecture to «Samasthamarta» (2015) → from religion to now… «Khawagaka» (2018) > > > ZOO invented its own linguistic system (Zufrazi) and its own writings (Zugrafi) as well as a fictional sacred book written in that language, called exactly Khawagaka...
