a.P.A.t.T. *

a.P.A.t.T. have been baffling audiences since 1997, stretching the constraints of what a musician is expected to be whilst constantly pushing their practice into new uncharted areas. Sounding like no∼one yet reminding you of everything… Sometimes at the same time. Your favourite mixtape from Liverpool !

The drummer takes the keyboard, the guitarist starts singing and the second keyboardist blows a clarinet, then plays violin ← Its normal, its a.P.A.t.T. ; And after a sweet moment of crazy «pop», the group offers a surging «sludge» that makes the speakers bleed, then follows a feverish and contagious «electro» dance, followed by an enigmatic «contemporary» interlude. We can bet that they will all change instruments again and that they will deliver a «bossa nova» pastiche or a «klezmer» hybrid… Its normal, its a.P.A.t.T.

• a.P.A.t.T. are undeniably unique yet carry on a historical musical lineage that runs deep inside whole english music < > arghtists  with open minds∼hearts like The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Cardiacs, David Bowie, Radiohead a.P.A.t.T. ! ? Bon appétit  !

A.M.D. *

A.M.D.

A.M.D. { Anti Military Demonstration } was founded by Sotár  and Kiskovács  in the summer of 1987, under the influence of the first hungarian hardcore  group Marina Revue. The initial line∼up brought together guitarist Füleki Sanyi —who also played in Leukémia— bassist Cséb, singer Sotár, drummer Kiskovács. The first concert took place at the Muter Club in February 1988, and in mid88 they recorded the first of many demo∼tapes they would publish. Cséb  left the group due to military service in August, replaced by Sík Bandi (ex. Kazányi) and concerts in western europe began with him. Early 1989 a limited edition of «Sucking Stalin Tour» was released by a small label  in germany. Due to musical differences, Füleki Sanyi  left the band in December 89. The new guitarist temporarily became Tádé  and in the summer of 1990, they found their new guitarist in the person of Lörke  (ex. Trottel, Marina Revue, Qss) which since then defines the new sound of the group. At the end of that same year, the hungarian label BLACK YUK  released the K7 «Dont March in !». A.M.D. played with Idiots, Spermbirds, Rich Kids on Lsd, RIP, Fugazi, Bodycount, Carcass… At the end of 1991, they released their debut full∼lengh album «The Horrors of War, Even Worse» which was released with help of our proto∼label  & distro AlternativNoise and still available in LP & K7 via  aNGRRykULTURRa.

With the separation of Sotár  in November 1993, the band was dissolved, followed by its unfortunate death in 1994. At the end of this year, they reunite and decide to relaunch A.M.D. with a new singer → Cséb, who played bass in 88. In 1995, the CD «Survivors» was released with this formation which lasted until the end of 1996 with the new departure of Cséb. From 1997 to 2000 they were looking for a singer, they had gigs with different line∼up but couldnt find a suitable singer. From 1999, Kiskovács  continued with Aurora  and A.M.D. seemed finished…

I let you discover the rest of their adventures since the 2000 years → A.M.D. keep fighting !

UŽ JSME DOMA *

UŽ JSME DOMA { pronounce «oosh∼smeh∼dough∼ma» } is a group originally founded in 1985 at Teplice (czech republic)  with some flesh & brain pieces of F.P.B.

Hard to resume soon 40 arghtivism years : Nine studio albums, two re∼recorded & re∼arranged studio recordings, three live albums { last & new one starring Randy of The Residents }, one double DVD, one lyrical book, one pop∼up book & around 3000 shows around the earth… The bands approach to arrangements & style is unique in the world of «rock». They bring instruments & vocals in different directions within the same scales and keys to create a dense melodic atmosphere. In addition, their rhythms often accent off∼beats and half∼beats, throwing the listener into unexpected directions. The music seems to be an exhausting juxtaposition between beauty and ugliness, as songs will frequently shift between modes to create tumultuous, powerful hooks. The combo is also fond of shifts between time signatures and the insertion of extra beats in the shaping of the mood of the song…

The lyrics of Miroslav Wanek are considered as deep sweet crazy poetry. And all artworks are well∼done by permanent non∼musician member, painter Martin Velíšek. Without any doubt : «We are well in their home» !

Many rumors & other urban legends exist around this small anonymous musical group directly involved within the zapatista insurrection of January 1rst, 1994 in Chiapas… Coming out hot a few days after the uprising —and revealing in introduction the «First Declaration from the Jungle of Lacandonne»—, this early elementary recording { in direct, without flourish and with acerbic & raw verb —in español, of course, but also in english, to make oneself understood by l@s gring@s— } will be the opportunity for 4 autonomous french structures { New Wave, Toxic Grafity, Ineptie & ! a N G R r ! } to cooperate in order to make internationally and loudly accessible this corrosive & incisive manifesto with black (& red) humor…

Then followed in 1995, a second sound attack «Política Y Esparcimiento…» published by the label of the howler∼agitator of Los Crudos, Limp Wrist (…) Martin Sorrondeguy : LENGUA ARMADA Discos
